My name is Bernard Mtaki Marwa, 25 year old currently living in Mhonze, Mwanza – Tanzania. I joined Mhonze Youth group in 2013 through sports and I was chosen to be a group chairperson for the group. I also supervised the fishing farming for the youth income generation.
I now have my own welding business having received training and equipment support through the SFEA – TAHEA Mwanza partnership. I was supported with TZshs 1,000,000 worth equipment to help me establish my workshop so as to mentor other youths interested in welding. I have 10 youths being trained through apprenticeship program. By mid-2017, I had earned up to USD 2000 from my business.

I facilitate literacy and numeracy skills to children attending class 1 and 2 in the after school program as a way of giving back to the community.
