Lundheim Folk High School students visit CBS PEWOSA

Every year, SFEA receives different groups of students from Norway who visit our partners in the region to learn more about SF’s development work among poor communities in East Africa. Lundheim Folk high school is one of SFEA’s regular school visit teams. During their visits the students are exposed to various program activities where they interact directly with the participants, get to try out some activities by themselves etc.

Mr. Eivind, the teacher who accompanied the students this year shared that this exposure to development work activities helps broaden student’s perspectives on issues to do with the developing world.

This year the students visited CBS PEWOSA, our implementing partner operating in Wakiso, Mpigi and Luwero.

Finally the students got to interact with young ladies undergoing Vocational Skills training in hair dressing and tailoring at Hidden Treasure centre. We had a group picture with the trainees and this marked the end of the visit. The students were happy about the interactions with other young people.

CBS PEWOSA carries out a lot of advocacy on poverty, development and social welfare through the radio station. We explained to the students that SFEA and CBS has focus days in a month where issues to do with community transformation and poverty eradication are highlighted among the listeners.
