We are pleased to announce that our new Regional Director, Mr. Patrick Wajero has now officially joined the SF Family.
Patrick Wajero commenced this important role on November 1, 2018. Patrick comes with a strong background as an International development practitioner, with years’ experience working on women’s rights, livelihood, human development, good governance at national, regional and international levels.
He is a strong believer in empowering the voice and the pivotal role of local CSOs, NGOs and community groups to hold duty bearers to account.
Patrick also brings his professional career of over two decades of development experience in Africa, including being Director of Programmes at British Council in Kenya; Country Representative of Catholic Agency for Overseas Development-UK in Nigeria before moving to being Country Director in Rwanda six years ago, where he led Oxfam’s representation with government, private sector, civil society, and international institutions.
Our outgoing Regional Director, Mrs. Priscilla Serukka, who has served for the last fifteen years continues to work alongside Patrick until December when she moves on. She is greatly applauded for lifting the Region’s work to a higher level, in times of huge challenges, such as the civil war in South-Sudan and political challenges in the region in general. Priscilla will be remembered by the staff and the partners whom she has served with such a servant heart. Her contribution to the SF Management team has also been recognized and appreciated. No doubt she will greatly be missed, we wish her the very best on her next adventure.
I am grateful for having had the opportunity to lead this great organization as we worked towards a world free from poverty. Looking back, 15 years ago, a lot has been accomplished amidst several challenges. I could not have made it without this team of dedicated staff in both Stromme Foundation and the partners we have worked with. Most of all I thank God the Almighty for His ever-present help even in the difficult and questionable seasons.
Please welcome with us Patrick Wajero, our new Leader.
