The Accelerated Learning Programme (ALP)

This program enables young people who did not complete, or had no opportunity to start a basic education to join and complete their primary education within a short period of time. In South Sudan, it was initiated by the Government of the Republic of South Sudan to provide older children, youth and young adults who missed their education during the war to attain a basic education. The program covers all the school work normally done by children through their primary school, although the year program is compressed into four years to cover for lost time.
